Conceptual Framework for Regenerative Ranching and Agriculture (R2A)
In this document prepared by The Nature Conservancy team, one of the partners of this partnership, concretely presents our vision on Regenerative Ranching and Agriculture (R2A), the principles on which it is based on, and the outcomes it aims to achieve within the framework of Future Landscapes. We believe this resource will be a valuable reference point for our team and our collaborating partners.
What is Regenerative Agriculture and Livestock (R2A)?
R2A is an approach to managing agri-food systems that integrates scientific and local knowledge to actively conserve and restore ecosystems and biodiversity in production areas and their surroundings. Our goal is to reduce the ecological footprint, build resilience, and increase productivity while promoting social inclusion, human health, and livelihoods. We focus on principles rather than practices, assess outcomes rather than individual practices, and strive for systemic transformation.
